First Night in NZ... Clocks are falling back - Daylight savings ends!!!!

4th April 2015

What a lucky day to arrive in NZ!   Tonight we turn our clocks back one hour because daylight savings ends. (We are just in the beginning of Autumn)   Tonight we were still able to play at the beach at 7pm, but after tomorrow it will be too dark at that time.
Something really cool for you to know is that while it is Saturday night here for us, you are probably still asleep on Friday night!
We took Flat Shea to the beach by our house.  It is called Browns Bay.   From Browns Bay beach you can see Rangitoto Island. (rang - eee- toe - toe) Rangitoto island is a volcano that erupted hundreds of years ago.
Flat Shea even got to sink her toes in New Zealand sand for the first time..... but it was too cold for a swim!!
In the pictures you can see the pink sky.... the sun is going down for the night!!!  Good Night!

We can see Flat Shea in Front of Rangitoto Island

Can You see where Rangitoto Island is on the Map?

Can you see how pretty the sky is over the beach tonight! 7pm Saturday April 4th

One other exciting thing that is happening tonight is a Blood MOON lunar Eclipse.   Its going to happen about 1 am in the morning.  If we can stay awake or wake up in time we are hoping to see it..... if we do we will send you pictures........

  1. The beach is so beautiful. The eclipse sounds like it must have been pretty cool too.
