Making Flax angels

Flat Shea met a lady who teaches people how to weave flax (Harakeke).  Flat Shea helped make a flax angel and has even made flax fibre rope ..

(Harakeke (flax) was the most useful plant in New Zealand to Māori. It was used to make shelter, cloaks, baskets, mats, sails for canoes, traps for catching birds and ropes for fishing.
Large quantities of harakeke can still be found around traditional Māori pa sites where it was cultivated to provide fibre for weaving and medicine. The nectar from the flowers was also used to sweeten food.

  1. Wow! I think I need to come see New Zealand myself. There is so much to see and learn.
